University of Florida Dial Center Testimonial
In October 2024, Sarah led a workshop with our Center faculty on the topics of burnout and resilience. As educators and scholars in the field of Communication Studies, we have a lot of background in this area, but it is a credit to Sarah that she brought a fresh perspective to a familiar topic. Her style is deeply compassionate and engaging, and she led all of us through several very useful exercises that we will return to again and again. I would highly recommend Sarah Livingstone to any organization or group looking to go a little deeper with one another to build a culture of self-care.
Cheers, Emily

On October 31, 2024, Sarah Livingstone, MSW gave the entire faculty of the William & Grace Dial Center for Speech and Communication Studies at the University of Florida a workshop on Burnout Prevention. We learned about the definition and history of burnout, as well as the meaning of resilience. I found the workshop to be deeply useful and engaging. Sarah’s professional yet conversational style was able to not only hold our attention, but made us learn deeper. I also found her use of various scenarios meaningful and relatable. As an academic with both scholarly and administrative responsibilities, I found it to be very useful for my career. I highly recommend Sarah Livingstone!

The presentation was mind-blowing. The part that stood out to me most was about how to refresh and how to give yourself a pat on the back. It’s really astounding how we work and don’t realize the impact that it has on our daily lives. I never realized how easy we can be burned out from stress and demands from work and home and maintaining that delicate balance… This program has reminded me that I need to take time for me.

Sarah was a fantastic speaker for my group of professionals! In our industry, it’s common for people to wear multiple hats and become the catch-all for everything a company or organization needs—so burnout often feels inevitable. Sarah delivered her message in a way that was both engaging and entertaining, helping the group really understand what burnout is and how to manage it.
The discussion during her presentation was lively, and everyone was truly engaged. Several members shared afterward that they appreciated how relatable the topic was and found it genuinely interesting. It clearly resonated with the group and sparked meaningful conversation.
